Somehow the receptacle for the controller became distorted and so I just ignored it for a few years. But as cold weather started to hit this year I decided to see if I could get this heated mattress pad working again. A quick squeeze with the pliers got it back into shape and it seems to still be functional. Not all of the elements work, but the ones immediately under me do, and that’s what’s important.
It says it only uses 180W so it has to be more efficient than heating the whole room (or the whole house). Maybe it works a little too well, making crawling out of bed in the morning is a greater challenge than usual. But it’s my weekend now, and if I don’t want to get out of bed, well, I won’t...

Nope. I’m a cheap bastard, so this one won’t get replaced until it completely stops functioning. If the other side works better I’ll just start sleeping on that side...
